PTPM, represented by the USM Web 3.0 team, participated in the exhibition at SPICE Penang. The event aimed to raise public awareness—particularly among school leavers, SPM graduates, and degree holders aspiring to pursue master’s or PhD studies—about the programmes, courses, and educational opportunities offered at USM in general and PTPM in particular. In addition, the exhibition featured an introduction to VR technology, highlighting its potential for widespread use in the future.
Students from SMS Pokok Sena (SAINA) were participated to the “VR Workshop for Biology Form 4.” The workshop aimed to provide an immersive experience in exploring one of the Form 4 Biology syllabus topics—cell division—using Desktop VR. It also served to introduce students to a new learning aid based on VR technology, representing a benchmark for assessing the readiness of Malaysia’s school system to adopt new educational technologies in teaching and learning.

The Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (PTPM) conducted a VR workshop featuring a self-developed VR Safari by the USM Web 3.0 team, offering an immersive learning experience about zoo animals. A total of 30 students and several teachers participated in the workshop, which aimed to assess students’ readiness to learn using immersive technologies such as VR.

Handover of the “VR for Learning Autism” development project, marked by a VR workshop for students with autism. The session was attended by six PPDK staff members, two officer from RCMO USM, and a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) to officially confirm the project handover to PPDK. Participants, including students, had the opportunity to explore and experience the completed VR Autism module firsthand.
